<1538-1591> Umanista e diplomatico di origine fiamminga, ma naturalizzato inglese, scrisse componimenti in latino e raccolse una considerevole biblioteca di manoscritti classici latini e greci, in parte conservati alla Parker Library at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. Fu in relazione con Melantone e Ortelius.
